GRAVITY doesn't seem to exist at this place !!
In the 17th century, Sir Isaac Newton discovered the principle and laws of gravity when he saw an apple falling from a tree. but there are some places on our planet Earth where this law does not seem to work out.
This place where the force of gravity seems to work the least is called the Hoover Dam. at first sight it seems that this mysterious place does not follow the rules of gravity, but this has a scientific explanation.
This dam is situated in the Clark County, Nevada. this massive structure is made up of concrete and its purpose is to provide hydroelectricity, flood control, water storage,etc.
the construction of this giant was started in the year 1931 and completed in the year 1936. the cost of building this dam was $639 million! and is operated currently by the Bureau of Reclamation.
the picture above shows its gigantic structure. People approach the dam's top and pour water through a bottle and a magical thing happens. the water does not flow down but splashes upwards like in the image below. this amazed a lot of people.
This event was witnessed by many people including architects, scientists, geographers, etc. after a lot of research and analyzing scientists found out that this was due to the structure of the dam being in the shape of an arc. the arc pushes all the wind and air in the upward direction pushing the water and not allowing the water to fall down.
